This mixed-media graphic narrative is made through collecting shared experiences of AFAB (assigned female at birth) individuals, and queer people of different gender identities- relating to gender biases in healthcare and issues of access to public toilets that we face. The project explores the medium of embroidery, appliqué, and wood carving to create a book that defies conventional approaches to bookmaking and storytelling. The website is an archive of this developing artwork, where these shared, collective experiences are accessible. We value conversations and process more than completion.
This project was initially implemented by India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) under the Arts Practice programme, made possible with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment Fund (from October 2024-2025).
Currently supported by the Rafunaama Grant (December 2025-July 2026)
